Sweet Pea Designs was founded in 1988 by Anne Johnson and Kim Kreis. After becoming friends, both young mothers discovered that they shared a mutual love for personal stationery. Designing and producing personalized stationery would be the direction in which their shared creative strengths would take them. They chose “Sweet Pea Designs” for their company name because both of them used the name “sweet pea” as the affectionate name for their children.

In the fall of 1988, Anne and Kim unveiled Sweet Pea Designs when their friends hosted seven Open House parties in their homes. Encouraged by the enthusiastic response of their friends and guests, Anne and Kim were soon accepting requests to sell Sweet Pea Designs in fine retail and studio businesses both locally and out of state.

Within two years, an overwhelming response to Sweet Pea Designs led these young mothers to partner with the Dewberry family, now working under the name PrintsWell, Inc., to both produce and market their line of stationery. The multigenerational expertise of PrintsWell, Inc. in the printing and engraving business as well as the excellent reputation they have for customer service has provided the perfect match for the distinctive quality and look of Sweet Pea Designs. Together their goal continues to be to provide an excellent product, at a reasonable cost with outstanding customer service.

Now, six children and 20+ years later, Anne and Kim continue to be the sole designers of the Sweet Pea Designs stationery. The look of Sweet Pea Designs continues to remain current with the best trends while retaining the distinctive look that they have had since the beginning.
